Who is a good fit?
I work with married couples in Central New York who are within five years of retirement or recently retired. They are good savers, with money across 403(b)s, 457s, IRAs, and savings. Many have a pension decision ahead of them.
You may be a good fit if:
• You're both still working, maybe with two pensions or two retirement plans to coordinate.
• You have a pension election coming and know it's a one-time decision.
• You've inherited money, or expect to, and want it to fit into your plan.
• You want what you've built to take care of each other and, eventually, your adult children.
• You'd rather hand off the planning than do it yourself.
The questions I help you answer:
• Which pension option protects both of you?
• When should each of you claim Social Security?
• Should you do Roth conversions before required distributions start?
• Which accounts should you draw from first, and how much tax will you pay?
• How does an inheritance change your plan, and how do you pass on what's left?
